Hello.
I just arrived back from the Dakar Series, Central Europe Rally in Hungary and Roumania.
It has been a fantastic week of 7 days racing.
Stages were shorter and more aggressive than in a normal desert rally, and it took me some days to adapt. Hard conditions, fast piste, sandy tracks, grass lanes, whoops, twists and hairpins, rocks in the mountain, rain and snow..
I finished 24th overall MOTO and ofcourse first woman which I’m very happy with in this tough competition when all the stars and Dakar teams were present.
My Loctite red KTM 525 worked perfectly all days and I was not even close to crashing. Maybe because I had my own mechanic and friend Magnus with me in the Rally Raid UK team. The only drama was on the 200 km transport between stages on day 4, when my rear mousse (type inner tube) melted and 50 km from the next starting point the rear tyre was totally trashed. Luckily the KTM Factory Team was at the assistance park and quickly changed the entire rear wheel with a new tyre on it and I made it to the start just in time! I asked if Loctite could fix the trashed tyre during the evening - they said it would take a miracle!
